GENDER IN TECHNOLOGY

 

A Conversation to Discuss the Following:

 

 

• Why are there such major gender disparities at tech conferences?
• Why is it that readership of gadget blogs skews 70/30 male/female?
• Is the skew perpetuated by the tech community (e.g. all male speakers at FOWA 2006), or are larger cultural issues (e.g. stigma associated with female geeks) responsible?
• Is this a problem? If so, what steps can we take to alleviate it?

 

Outstanding Questions:

 

• Should we have a panel of "experts" or just discussion?
